This is my "getting pumped" blog post. I will be leaving for Niagara Falls in less than 5 days! This week is the week of preparation. The background on my desktop is covered with digital post it notes reminding me of the things I need to do... so this week those will hopefully be completed prior to Thursday by midnight (why yes, procrastination does carry into the summer).
Things to do: pack, grocery shop (don't worry I did steal 20 jelly packs from a random chik-fil-a so we're all set on those), get random supplies for camping, and print off hotel confirmations, get my life together.
One thing that has been a humorous thought process of mine is predicting what type of person I will be like when Jackie and I go rugged aka camping. Here are three types of hiking personalities I have developed:
Type 1: Adventurey poise. This is the person that never rolls their ankles while stepping over small rocks, knows how to make a fire, and can set up a tent without any help. These individuals possess an "outdoor ease," enabling them to be relatively independent and not complainy. An example of this type can be seen in the following clip (sorry it's a little nasty) :

*Type 2: Grunge facade: This type of hiker/camper likes to pretend they are rugged but they are not. They just recently went shopping for their hiking clothes and have been wearing their new bandannas in the privacy of their own home to "break them in." These personas are found sneaking anti-bacterial hand sanitizer while their fellow Type 1 friends look the other way. These are just straight up awkward adventurers. Example shown below:

Type 3: Open complainer: The last type of camper/hiker does not make any attempt to cover up their dislike of the great outdoors. They were dragged along and demanded to bring the air mattress to the campsite. A famous example of this hiking type is seen in the clip below:

*This is my guess as to which one I will be
Anyways, hopefully I will update with more plans and take cool pictures of all the crap we're lugging along! Oh and I can't wait to show you how cool I look with my hiking gear on too ;)
