This trip is turning out to be quite the adventure already! I am quite exhausted but I must say I have had a lovely birthday.
So..recap---
After loading up the car this morning, Jackie and I headed north for 8 hours! We took shifts and only the second half was a little painful because we were driving through central PA aka one small village (yes, village) every 30 miles (or so it felt). We occupied ourselves by listening to country music and reading aloud Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. We have discovered J.K. Rowling is actually a lot more witty when you read her work aloud. Voice inflections necessary.
We pulled into our hostel in Niagra and walked a few miles to the falls and explored after eating some Italian food. We really wanted to go to the Canadian side... because it is MUCH better... so we managed our way over there and took in the sights.
I find it fascinating that so many people will travel from all over the world to see the falls. It's such a testament to how we love to behold such amazing sights. We will travel to see mountains. We will drive and fly to see water cascading over a cliff. It brings something up in us. Something you can't explain with science and numbers. This thing placed in us from God... this natural awe of His creativity. It's wonderful!
Anyways, here are some pics of the evening! We're hitting the hay early so we can head up to Toronto tomorrow for lunch and then driving to Kalamazoo for the night after that :)
You can't tell but I am straddling the International line haha

Just beautiful!
Hey look what I got from Canada mom!
Crying to the blue corn moon or something
P.S. If you've gotten this far and have realized I never explained my post title.. I will indulge your curiosity! Jack and I got in a bit of a pickle because we had no quarters for the pedestrian toll to get back into the US from the Canadian side. We kind of just stood there for a few minutes to see if anyone would take pity on us and give us 50 cents... but alas, no kind souls were there at the moment! It was definitely a "help me I'm poor" moment...thank you Bridesmaids for gifting me with that epic line.
